Over the last weekend of March, we took over Hackney House for 2 days and filled it with 50 like-minded East London entrepreneurs, some of our favourite startup founders and expert workshop leaders for a festival of entrepreneurship, Echo-style: The Echo++ Weekender.
We put our 50 budding startups through their paces: stress-testing their ideas, discovering their creative problem-solving styles, building their business models and expanding their skillsets with workshops and 1:1s in everything from PR and copywriting to tech strategy and financial management.
And most importantly, building their networks – 8/10 of our entrepreneurs reported making at least one connection with someone who will help them move their business forward, and many got much more than that! We’ve already heard stories of our participants meeting co-founders, mentors and gaining customers over the Weekender, and we can’t wait to hear what they get up to next!
We’ll be keeping in touch with all the budding entrepreneurs over the coming months and continuing to support them on their startup journey.
Here’s what some of the participants had to say:
This time last week, I was going to call it quits and get an office job – and return to the vicious cycle. Tomorrow, I’m starting my business. – Emilia
I came here with an idea and am leaving with a vision and an initial action plan. This is fantastic! Thank you Echo++ for this! – Talita
Thank you Echo for the awesome two-day programme. From losing hope, I am now back on a path of confidence now that I am armed with an amazing amount of information, tools and contacts. Loved the energy, positivity and brilliance among the group. – Padma
Thank you to Echo member Tania Han who captured the Weekender on camera for us – all for Echoes.
